Comprehensive Course Review Annual Course Review

Annual Course Review

Each School or Department is required to complete an Annual Course Review of all coursework courses (or majors within courses in the case of large courses). Some courses/majors may be reviewed together as a group of courses e.g. a Graduate Certificate/ Graduate Diploma/ Masters, or a combination of majors which are articulated. The Head of School/Department is responsible for ensuring that the Annual Course Review Report (a one page summary using the MSWord formatACR Report Template) is completed and forwarded via the Dean T&L to the Pro Vice-Chancellor by 31 October 2008. Pro-Vice-Chancellors and Deans of Teaching and Learning are responsible for reviewing reports and determining strategies for addressing issues of concern across a Faculty and reporting through the DVC Education to the Vice Chancellor. This report is to be received by the DVC Education by 30 November 2008.

An pdf formatexample of Course Review data and an Annual Course Review Report provides guidance on the level of detail required.

The third source of data is the CEQ qualitative comments from students. This data will be forwarded to Schools/Departments by University Planning and Quality by 17 September 2008.

Schools and Departments requiring assistance should contact Sue Jones (Chair, Courses Committee). Information sessions and individual consultations are available on request.

Schools and Departments with poor LTPF results (and particularly where CEQ results for the Good Teaching Scale or Overall Satisfaction are below the national average) are strongly encouraged to commence C2010 Comprehensive Course Review immediately (contact Beverley Oliver).
